Hm....

If I look close in my materials, I observe that burned orange is not as bright as the usual orange.

One or two years ago I fished with 2 different nymphs: One had a very shiny, bright orange dubbed body (SLF). This nymph caught chub for me, when I lost the nymph I switched to a nymph, where the body had a more darker orange, not flashy hue. I caught imedeately 2 trout on this pattern - lost it, and switched back to the brighter version. Caught chub.

Did anybody else ever observed such a selectivity of fish concerning the hue of a pattern?
