We don't have the Lady Bug issue in my neighborhood. I do have some sort of
a bug/beetle that likes to spend the winter under the siding and the house.
My sister has a summer place in Vermont, and I use to open up around
Memorial Day when NEC is at Lake Placid. I'd walk in and the house would like
a lady
bug and fly war had taken place and the casualties were heavy on both side.
With the cold winters there the flies and lady bugs make their way into the
insulation and when somebody would come up for a skiing weekend and turn the
heat up they would get active then die when the heat was turned down again at
the end of the stay. It use to take about a half hour to vacuum up all the
bodies. I got a really neat lady bug in a fly swap. You're probably going
to need to punch out some .22 or .32 cal foam circles to get them right.

Jerry: Thanks for the info.. See, we have had lady bug "swarms" around here
the last few years, and I was gonna make some in that color, shape etc..Maybe
they could be done by gluing on the bottom.. lay in the legs, then glue in
the top, and "clamp" it with a clothes pin, or electrical "alligator clip"
to hold the halves and legs in place till the glue dries.. They come out by
the MILLIONS..It's usually from about Sept till about the first hard freeze in
about December.. The extension offices say they did NOT release them, but
they are coming from some where, and I assume they would be great fisg bait
(or
flies) cause it has been several years and they get knocked into the waters
here as well..Any other areas of the country have this lady bug problem??? The
ppl here who live in, or have visited Florida when the "Love Bugs" come out,
the lady bugs here are THAT bad...You don't dare yawn cause they taste
horrible LOL....Chuck
