All the bluegills in my area seem to have disapeared. I've only caught five
this spring and summer altogether. I've even used a fish finder in places
that used to be good fishing holes, and there just aren't any there.

Folks: Do you have the same experience with bluegills as I do?? I just
cannot get them to bite very good in the crystal clear water cause we
haven't had any rain to stir up the water.. I think it's cause the fish can
see me as good as I can see them, even though I'm casting out from 50-60ft
in the boat TRYING to hide from the fish.. But I think they can still see my
fly line and it scares them.. I try to land the fly/line/leader as gently as
possible, but it just seems that in slightly murky water I havemuch better
luck. Anybody else experience this??? a lot of ppl think that "ANYBODY can
catch a bluegill", but the fact is they check out every bite they put in
their mouths before biting it, unlike, say, a bass and shell crackers (red
eared sunfish) that is sooo veracious, they seem to bite/eat, and ask
questions later.. Or, is it just that I am a sorry excuse for a fisherman???
Wait, don't answer that one...Chuck
