Try 4lb Flourocarbon. I have been killing fish in clear water using the
stuff, bluegill, copper nose bream and red ear. The bite is on here in
ARkansas.

Folks: Do you have the same experience with bluegills as I do?? I just
cannot get them to bite very good in the crystal clear water cause we
haven't had any rain to stir up the water.. I think it's cause the fish
can see me as good as I can see them, even though I'm casting out from
50-60ft in the boat TRYING to hide from the fish.. But I think they can
still see my fly line and it scares them.. I try to land the
fly/line/leader as gently as possible, but it just seems that in slightly
murky water I havemuch better luck. Anybody else experience this??? a lot
of ppl think that "ANYBODY can catch a bluegill", but the fact is they
check out every bite they put in their mouths before biting it, unlike,
say, a bass and shell crackers (red eared sunfish) that is sooo veracious,
they seem to bite/eat, and ask questions later.. Or, is it just that I am a
sorry excuse for a fisherman??? Wait, don't answer that one...Chuck
