A local fly fishing guru does something similar, he gets a very small
metal ring (as far as I know, his shop is the only one around that
sells them) . This is tied at the end of a new tapered leader. From
that point on, all tippet is tied to the ring, thus saving the leader
from "leader creep". It sounds like a good idea, but I have never
tried it myself.

Tony: No.. I'll take ya a pic.. These are TINY little coiled loops,
and one end is closed. You tie that end to tippet, or to the end of
a tapered leader. You "clip" the other end through the eye of the
hook on the fly.. They are sooo tiny I think my dry flies will
still float.. I'll be lucky (even with 3X reading glasses) to be
able to tie them onto the leader/tippet LOL.. Chuck

Subject: Re: [VFB] No Knot Fas-Snaps
Are these the little rings that have a shaft with
barbs on them that stick inti the fly line. If so, I
have had a number of them break at the ring loosing my
bass bugs. If I can find the rest of what I have, you
are welcome to have them.

Folks: I bought some "no knot fas-snaps"
yesterday, and was wondering if anybody uses these
??? If so, do they work well??? These are made of
spring steel, and I could certainly see where they
would save a ton of money on tapered leaders and/or
tippet material, IF they in fact, DO work??? Thanks
for any info, Chuck
