Glenn: Thanks... I just wish I had not even made the post, cause I wrote a few
things the wrong way. My kids and wife DO love going fishing with Me still.. In
fact, they can't wait till we can find a bigger boat so we can ALL go at the
same time..I do think you should teach your kid competitiveness, unlike the New
Agers who think we should not even keep score at Little League games cause they
think it will "ruin a kids Psyche".. That is Bunk, and all that will teach a
kid is to be a door mat to everybody their whole lives, cause in life, there IS
a winner, and a loser in everything you do.. That's just the way it is. Chuck

In defence of children and the lady that loves you.
Well Chuck your children are going to be with you in such a short time
and the memories they have ,I hate to see them treating their own children the
same.. Also they will be discourage of doing other things with you , but they
won't tell you that either. When they will start driving those special times
fishing together will end , because it won't be an exciting thing to do with
you .. So sometimes it may be better to leave the rod home and think of the
great day to be with your children. When I teach presentation with a fly rod I
get a two inch bobber ,some leader and a duck decoys lead weight and do some
target practice. Remember to teach them to pop their flies to draw attention of
the fish.instead of having a dead fly in the water. So chuck spend the day
teaching but also don't be so demanding or authoritive and keep your mouth shut
most of the time. You can also have them casting by your side ,remember your
not fishing ,and be in front of the boat together. So learn to become a dad and
husband first, not their competitor and enjoy these great time while you still
have then. You wouldn't want me be with you on such a trip and with every cast
and fish I catch having me being a jerk and making a ass out of you and I'm
good enough to out fish you any day.Chuck . I know for sure that would be the
last trip you would ever want to do with me.,am I right ,and I'm sure your
family has such thoughts also.So just get excited when they catch a fish ,and
say nothing about the number you could have caught or the size and think of the
memories your family will have. Would it be ,Well ,when I go fishing with my
dad and or husband, he's always a jerk.Really all this is Chuck ,is
intimidation and being a ass.
Chuck I have learn to value life and life can be so short as we know of
it now.Kindness is always remember as the best of times..

Jimmy: Actually, the main reason i can't leave my rod at home is
because since 1985, I have been in constant and chronic pain Back pain,
Fibromyalgia and Arthritis and doing my hobbies like fishing, and now tying
takes my mind off that pain for a while. Great therapy, Chuck

That's very simple. You need to be the GUIDE and not do any
fishing. Let them fish and under your tutelege, they will catch a lot of fish.
Can you keep your fly out of the water? I doubt it. ;-)

Folks: I have what would be a GREAT problem if it were not my wife
and kids that this happened too.I took my wife, my 13 yr old, and my 16 yr old
fishing this week..All on separate days.. All to the same lake.. First trip, my
13 yr old.. I caught 52 to his ZERO... Then, the 16 year old.. It was 17-4 as
we had to leave cause of a storm. Next, I smoked my wife like a cheap cigar
55-6 LOL...And this has been happening all this year..I tell em it is my lucky
Auburn hats, but I don't really know what it is.. I tie flies and give them the
SAME fly. we are in the SAME boat, same lake each time like I said.. And all
three of them can cast as far and as accurate as I can (cause the fish are IN
the grass, so if you land it over a foot away from the grass you catch
nothing)... This may sound silly, but they are saying that they don't wanna go
fishing with Me again and I hate just fishing with the dog. What can i do to
make them catch more fish??? I know I have an advantage as I am in front of
the boat running the trolling motor. And they cannot swap out with Me yet cause
in Bama now you have to have a boat license for ANY boat that has a motor,
electric or gas, and I am the only one with a license right now. But, I'm even
backed them into come of the best coves we fish so they would get the first
shot at the fish... I don't know what to do cause like i said, i LOVE to win,
but not to the point that they are threatening to make me go by
myself...Anybody else have this "problem"??? Chuck
