Further to Joseph's e-mail, colour isn't important for dry flies. Assuming
the fly is floating then all the fish sees is a shadow against the brighter
sky. Colour is not important for dries.

I have very good color perception and I don't see any shift in color when
I use Rain-X. In fact, I dip my dry flies in Rain-X right after I tie
them. Then I don't have to worry about treating them when I first tie them
on.
