Further to Joseph's e-mail, colour isn't important for dry flies. Assuming the fly is floating then all the fish sees is a shadow against the brighter sky. Colour is not important for dries.

I have very good color perception and I don't see any shift in color when I use Rain-X. In fact, I dip my dry flies in Rain-X right after I tie them.
