Jerry,

In the package of flies I'm sending today, I'll add some materials for you to
try out- fox-tail, coyote tail, Islandic sheep, polar bear, and whaterever else
looks right as I go through the bin.

(Buggs has petitioned a boycott on the use of rabbit- he's getting a bit
nervous. He strongly suggests substituting fox and coyote, and the
re-establishment of raptors (bunny-eating only) as legitimate fly-tying
resources. Buggs' version of a 'double-bunny' is a lot different from a
flyfisherman's.)

  Subject: [VFB] substitute for rabbit

  Listers,

I am tying a fly that calls for a wing of white rabbit fur and then a second
wing in front of the first, that is brown rabbit fur.

I have the brown rabbit fur, I do not have any white. What is the best
substitute fur the white rabbit fur. I have white raccoon tail and white
marabou. An additional question is, once having substituted for the white fur
do I then mix the two materials or should I tie both wings out of the same
material.
