Never having used Magenta colored thread I really
can't say. I would guess the color would be as dark as
the streaks. I find the greens and the reds I use,
only darken a 1/2 shade. The browns will darken about
a shade. I also found that the different brands of
Epoxy Finish will darken different than others. I kind
of stuck with Flex Coat. I have had problems with a
couple of other brands I have used. I seldom build up
Graphite rods any more where I use Epoxy on the wraps.
For the past 9 years, I have been making bamboo rods
from scratch and using varnish on silk wraps. Varnish
will totally change the color of the thread.
