Boys, I fish a five foot bamboo on the Rayado River in New Mexico. I can comfortably cast it 35-40 feet when the need arises. But most times my cast will be 15 to 20 feet, upriver. Please note: Austin Forbes makes a tiny fly rod, all of 30 inches long with a tiny fly reel the size of a quarter. This little rig will cast 25 feet with ease, once you get the hang of it! P.S. I've seen pics of Henk casting a piece of string with a broom stick and a second casting a piece of string with nothing but his hand. Might have been Hans, but unless my memory is hitting CRS early today, it was Henk. ;-)
