Don, whenever I go to Moab I hit Ken's Lake. You might not find this on any map, but it is public water, al reservoir created for the towns water supply. Its about a 15 minute drive from town. Go south on the highway leading out of Moab until you see the Old Airport Road. (It is by a cement factory, you will see piles of gravel, the cement silo, etc.) Take a right there and continue till you come to another main road head south, Continue south on this road until you see the reservoir (it will be on your right)

Both times I've fished it have been in the spring using my pontoon boat, so I don't know how it fishes this time of year, nor how it fishes from the shore. It contains Rainbow and Brown trout, Crappie and bass. It's fun fishing in the spring, because you never know what you will catch.

There is a river coming out of the mountains above that feeds the reservoir, but I have never fished it, but the locals say it has a good population of Brown trout.

I know people fish both the Green and the Colorado for a variety of warm water fish, but I have no idea what the bite will be like this time of the year.

You can find more information about fishing in Utah at the Department of Wildlife Resources site

What are you doing in Moab?

Does anyone know if there's any decent flywater in the Moab / Green River Utah area- say, within an hour's drive? Lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds, irrigation ditches, public goldfish fountains...

Thanks,
DonO
