Nice to see the divx stuff in there.

Does anyone know if the suite copes with large capture files yet? (>2GB)
I just saw this output from ./configure:

- Support for large (>2GB) files: true

so, i guess so.

Only for movtar and quicktime movies, though. AVI has a 2 GB limit
itself and the mjpegtools simply go with that standard. Opening AVI
movies larger than 2 GB will not work. lavrec opens a new AVI movie
after 1,8 GB (or something close to that), so if you use lavrec for
recording, there shouldn't be any problem.
Thanks,

It shall be good to simplify my numerous scripts for producing long video mpegs.
FYI, I use reiserfs which does support large files and I use the quicktime format, so in theory, I should have no problem.

While we are on the subject, is there any advantage to using the AVI format (quality wise)? How about this movtar format? Wasn't there supposed to be a newer AVI standard to overcome this limit?

I think I'll go and download it now...
