Hi Trevor and Reinoud
Thanks for the pointers so far. Trevor, your explanation of the corrupt DMA
transfers sounds very plausible indeed. Reinoud, any chance you can share
your "random memory tester" or is that not openly available?
I'll try removing, cleaning and reseating the single DIMM in the original and
then the other slot, to see if that works (I don't have any spares to hand at
present).
Were any of the bttv errors in the syslog output comprehensible to you? The
'clip' errors reminded me of Trevor's comments about corrupt addresses
outside the allocated range:
http://m-thomson.net/v4l/syslog.txt
Further, should I be looking into the source of the following syslog line:
"Mar 8 00:15:23 mythpc kernel: Limiting direct PCI/PCI transfers."
I'm assuming this has something to do with DMA access?
Lastly, is it worth trying to separate the WinTV card onto its own IRQ?
Currently there's a few things sharing IRQ11.
Thanks again for your guidance - it's much appreciated!
Cheers
Mike
