Clint, the advantage isn't to buy the whole season, but to buy the episode that you accidentally deleted from TiVo before you could watch it, or the episode that you missed because traffic was bad that night and you don't have TiVo, or the episode that you missed because on another channel your show ran over because of sports.... etc.
People pay $30/season for the DVD, which they wait for. A lot of the shows are becoming more and more serialized-storyline, where you have to have seen previous episodes to really get what's going on, and being able to buy the previous episode is a real advantage.
I think $1.99 for a music video is a total ripoff, but then I don't see any appeal to music videos anyway.
