Yeah, I've had that happen with my (text) blogs too. I've had it happen so much that people (in the blogosphere) have quoted me as being a writer for sites that I have absolutely nothing to do with.
The thing is, HTML even has standard markup for quoting someone. They could do stuff like...
<a href="" href="http://changelog.ca/">http://changelog.ca/">Charles Iliya Krempeaux</a> <cite><a href="" href="http://changelog.ca/log/2005/10/01/goodbye_newspaper">
http://changelog.ca/log/2005/10/01/goodbye_newspaper">wrote</a></cite>:
<blockquote type="cite" cite="" href="http://changelog.ca/log/2005/10/01/goodbye_newspaper">http://changelog.ca/log/2005/10/01/goodbye_newspaper ">
Every now and then one particular...
</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite="" href="http://changelog.ca/log/2005/10/01/goodbye_newspaper">http://changelog.ca/log/2005/10/01/goodbye_newspaper ">
Every now and then one particular...
</blockquote>
Which (assuming you're looking at the HTML version of this e-mail) when rendered looks like:
(Note, I didn't actually use the exact same markup I wrote above. I have no idea on how to inject HTML into GMail. But it should look similar to what is above.)
It's that simple. (Just use <cite> with <blockquote>... and a couple <a>'s.)
And if you're doing the feeds, you can use a <atom:link> with rel="via" (and other stuff) to say where it came from too.
See ya

It's no different than most aggregators, except for one GLARING

I'll have to sign up to see the entire clips to make sure they are
intact.
That's not cool. And unless they've got some fancy way to explain
this. This actually violates my CC license...by attribution (I am
sure I am not the only one)
