This is another great point mike! When people cross post from blip to mefeedia they can specify a flash version and a downloadable version of the video, but once again that information is not semantically specified and therefore does not make it into their feedburner feeds or... their RSS. What if we were to go through and make a series of microstandards, not just "rel=thumbnail", but also extending rel=enclosure. How can we extend the simple rel=enclosure to include alternate formats like Flash, 3GP or other formats that can be picked up by feedburner and encoded in the mediaRSS? > As far as writing MediaRSS, I think that FeedBurner can burn in some > very basic metadata, but it can't really do anything like put thumbnails > in or even multiple video versions. Video to stay away"). Wow, not sure how all that AOL vs. Yahoo stuff is going to work, but I could definitely see specifying licenses in a microformat too. For example <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licensce url" rel=license> is there already a rel=license microstandard for blog posts? I haven't thought to check before. So... how can we get all this metadata that blip's got through blip cross posting process and into bloggers feeds on their blogs? > Perhaps the easiest way to get MediaRSS metadata into your FeedBurner > feed is to point FB at your blip.tv RSS feed > (http://username.blip.tv/?skin=rss) instead of at your blog feed. One problem with that mike. And this is why I think people like blip.tv. People don't just videoblog on their blogs. They cross post to them from flickr, they re-blog an occasional youtube video, text posts, photos, all manner of stuff. So... I would not recommend people point their feeburner feed at blip. I'd recommend and offer to help blip find more ways to get all that rich meta information infor vloggers main blogs and feeds to make them look better and thus make them happier blip customers. :) And of course from my mefeedia soap box, I must say, it'll help us make them look better and blip too. A prettier more useful, more semantic vlogosphere will make everyone's happy. :) Sounds like such microstandards are what Jays customers need too. Oh! And also, is there a microstandard for semantically specifying geo information in individual blog posts too? -Mike Meiser mefeedia.com mmeiser.com/blog > Yours, > > Mike > Co-founder & CEO, blip.tv > > Jay dedman wrote: > > > > Can someone help me understand about Media RSS? > > I know that Yahoo has created a spec. > > How can I create a Media RSS feed with all that cool metadata? > > > > Does Feedburner support Media RSS? > > > > Jay > > > > -- > > Me ----> http://www.momentshowing.net <http://www.momentshowing.net> > > My Book ---->http://tinyurl.com/e6cap <http://tinyurl.com/e6cap> > > SF community ----> http://RyanIsHungry.com <http://RyanIsHungry.com> > > Community Capitalism----> http://HaveMoneyWillVlog.com > > <http://HaveMoneyWillVlog.com> > > Educate ----> http://node101.org <http://node101.org> > > Collaboration ----> http://spinxpress.com <http://spinxpress.com> > > Call now to activate----> 917 371 6790 > > > > > > > > Yahoo!
