We've already defined our own namespace for several things, and we'll
continue to "embrace and extend" RSS in a way that doesn't break
anything, at least for the benefit of our partners and people who write
software designed to work with blip RSS feeds when no alternative
standards exist.

That isn't the right approach for these kind of standards, and I still
maintain that it's premature to develop such standards when the ones we
already have aren't themselves being meaningfully parsed and respected.
