First off, he's touting Cingular because Apple signed a deal with Cingular. There need be no reason above that. Business partners stand up for each other. Secondly, he's touting Cingular because Cingular is the biggest of the US networks, so it made sense to strike on that iron. Finally, he's touting Cingular because Cingular did Apple a lot of favors when it came to developing the iPhone, so he's happy to have found people to work with.
