If for some reason you werent happy with either the process or the
results of your current choice of video encoding, or if you had
viewers asking for a divx-compatible version of your videos to play on
their divx certified devices, or if there was something you really
liked about divzx video quality or tools or browser plugin, then it
would be worth investigating divx.

If you have spare time and enjoy comparing these sorts of things, or
are curious in some way, then it would be worth having a look.

But in my opinion theres no killer reason to consider switching, no
reason for someone who doesnt want to think about encoding and is
relatively happy with their current system, to spend much time
worrying about this stuff right now. A collection of small reasons may
make it compelling case for some, but there is no dramatic leap in
quality from DivX or anybody else, and no great change in the balance
of hardware device compatibility, that warrants everyone thinking
again at the moment about formats.

More waffle about these things & other issues arising from DivX thread
shortly.

Cheers
