Bill, does yours allow you to angle it back so you can film yourself
with more than an arm's distance? Or do you use it for a stabilizer
only?

Secret Cameraman made me one that I can anchor against my waist and
walk with the camera aimed back toward me. It's basically a
telescoping shower curtain rod with a tripod bracket (recycled form an
old broken tripod) attached. We can make use of the swivel head so it
can be used a single leg stand or angled back as "me-pod" or whatever
you might call it. Nonetheless, it's nice to know about backups.
