Hey David, I use the Xacti C40 for my vlog now. I use to use both a Camcorder and the Xacti, but now just the Xacti.
I wish my model had a mic port. I wish the built in mic wasn't on the back of the viewing screen. I'm very happy with the quality I get out of such a small package. I did add a wide-angle lens to get the effect So don't take the view as what you'd expect out of the box on your Xacti. Here's some talk about the Xacti: http://mmmmmoon.blogspot.com/search/label/Xacti If you take a look at my last 4 vlogs, you'll get samples of Outdoor-sunny, outdoor-early evening, outdoor in the Cabana and fireworks while using a tripod. The latest ones are compressed using the h.264 compression...just fyi.
