I took a look at Vegas, but unfortunately versions 6 & 7 don't support MKV. I wasn't able to tell if their current version did, but I didn't see it mentioned on their product page. Ideally, I'd like to keep as much quality as possible, but still have some kind of portability. Quicktime is one solution, but my digital eco-system isn't really setup for mac. Being able to burn to Blu-Ray would be another option, but I think I'd prefer storing my files digital.
