Hi Jay: ...If the hosting was changed, so too were DNS. I believe Google spiders might (possibly) sense the DNS changes, and may have interpreted the change (simultaneous when pages were unavailable) as a domain termination -- and consequently removed and archived the site from its prior ranking. This is speculative, as few REALLY know Google's (ever changing) algorithmic schemas when considering SEO. Other explanations may be just as likely. Hope this helps.
