In terms of copyright law there is often not that much difference between commercial and non profit particularly when the issue is the use of an entire work. One of the most common misconceptions is that "Fair Use" is limited to non commercial/non profit use, which is not true. Likewise most major copyright decisions have developed out of what we would call "commercial use" but apply across the board. Obviously there are some special provisions for academic use such as "face to face", but these are fairly well defined.
