I have this in my "to buy" pile. Becky
From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2013 6:28 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Videolib] HBO I am wondering how other libraries deal with faculty requests for HBO documentaries that they don't sell on DVD, like the recently aired Mea Maxima Culpa. Some faculty have individual cable access for personal viewing but most don't. The university pays for generic cable aired in the student union, lounges, etc. but don't think HBO is included. I cannot figure out how to acquire, or a faculty member to view, or show in class, one of these films. I called HBO customer service and never got beyond recordings. Does anybody know if they offer a documentary only university streaming license for a fee or for specific films? VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
