I suppose it could be said that the guitar would be covered by his etc... Also note he only mentions the 'chitarrino' (small 4 course instrument?) in his list of embellishing instruments and omits the larger (5 course) guitar. This, I suggest, implies that the guitar does indeed fit with the other continuo realisation instruments covered by the etc....
