Hmm I still can now sometimes get it to fail but only on an EeePC machine using gpsd 2.39. This uses the GPS_OPEN_R method
Here it crashes on a double free, so doesn't seem to be your issue. [NB can't get gpsd to run anyway on this machine!] Some ideas: post your default.vik here. post your exact sequence of mouse/keyboard input. Edit the src/Makefile and remove the compiler O2 directive then, make clean && make - might give more of a chance of a backtrace. Also try running viking with the args -d -V for maximum output. Understanding the cause of the 'Fatal IO error 11' is probably key. Possibly running with '-sync' can help with X problems. Be Seeing You - Rob. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving isn't for you. ---------------------------------------- > Date: Sun, 30 May 2010 18:10:23 +0200 > From: g...@muellers.ms > To: viking-devel@lists.sourceforge.net > Subject: Re: [Viking-devel] Real-time GPS support? > > As promised some more debug information about viking crashing using > real time gps support.
