Perhaps we should wait until we have some concrete examples to discuss, but I would urge the deletion of almost all tips that are ONLY useful for versions prior to 6.0. Anyone using Vim before version 7.1 has a time bomb with regard to the modeline security issue. Maybe we need a category for obsolete tips, or possibly even a template to insert yet another coloured box. Perhaps Category:OldVersion - you would feel comfortable adding that to any tip that you think may be using old stuff. Totally agree. I've put a lot of time into the guidelines in the hope that they will help people from vim_use work efficiently. I plan to add a brief intro to the wikitext rules.
