My guess is that the effort to make one great, combined tip out of the bits and pieces is probably not worth the effort, particularly at this stage. I would clean up each tip, and put in a reference to the others. I realise that the [count]gf tip would be pretty weak, but I think we should live with that now. If we find a frequent need to refer to other similar tips, maybe we could do a template like Duplicate (e.g. see http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/VimTip1). The new template (Template:Related??) would be a much less prominent box. It would be at the end of the tip, and would occupy less space. It could say something like "Here are some related tips ...". Say tips 10, 20 and 30 are similar. We could put {{Related|10|20|30}} in each of those tips. That way, we don't have to put three different things (like {{Related|20|30}} in tip 10, etc). I've noticed that the wiki does a nice job of handling a link to the current page - it shows in a contrasting colour and is not a link. For example, see the navigation menu at: http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Vim_Tips_Wiki:Template_guidelines Come to think of it, that's what we should have done for {{Duplicate}}. Of course if you could think of a good category (Navigation? Browsing?), you could put each related tip in that category.
