Every once in a while, I discover (either through help files or this list) a relatively little-known feature of vim which really enhances my computing experience. The most recent occurrence of this (thanks to "A.J.Mechelynck) is the netrw feature (:help netrw) which allows one to edit a file over a network connection in a local copy of vim. Wonderful!
What is your favorite little-known Vim feature?
