On the contrary, recursion is the right way to evaluate expressions, 
because any expression may include full-fledged expressions as 
part-results, if only within (). _Not_ using recursion to evaluate 
expressions would be difficult to program, bug-prone (which rates as 
"dangerous" to me) and not necessarily faster.
