Is there any news on this?
This is quite a nuisance to any windows gVim users who prefer dark themes.
Here is a screenshot (superimposed on a dark background to highlight borders).

The white border can change in size (sometimes disappearing, sometimes 
appearing bigger) depending on window size and window snapping for me.

Hope this fix can be implemented for a future release.
