Oh, looks I failed to make myself understood.  But somehow this
misunderstanding eventually gives us a certain luck...in a sense... :-)

So should I still include x11_color_name_decoding.patch ?

No, you shouldn't.

Using the working Motif installed yesterday, now I know that
x11_color_name_decoding.patch causes a severe runtime error which prevents
the Motif GUI from startup.

I fixed that.

So please use the new, corrected patch attached to this email.  I named it
x11_color_name_decoding_updated.patch to distinguish it from the previous
one.
