Well, I tried it in xterm, version X.Org 6.8.99.903(236), not running 
screen, and when setting 'lines' and 'columns' in Vim 7.2.148, the 
window didn't budge. Something weird happened to my status line, a 
second copy of which was drawn in the command-line area, but that's all.
