Well, I was thinking about all this, but it looks to me too awkward.
Moreover for a function that, I believe, would be welcome by many users and
hence might be provided by core developers. In fact, I'm more than surprised
to be the first one to raise this point (I'm inferring to be the first one
as I haven't managed to google up any similar question/answer). It looks
like I was mistaken...
