But I already know enough English to speak and be understood by a pretty large amount of people, and while looking for another language to learn, Esperanto looked pretty attractive, not only for being able to talk with other "esperantistas", but to learn about languages. I've learnt a couple of things about other languages thanks to Esperanto. Anyway, it's just a hobby ;) >> The problem is that it doesn't scale well. All the formatting and automation is done by Vim in my case, from the signature to the quoting. >> I edit my email with Vim using a Firefox extension because I can't >> stand the GMail builtin editor (it is rich-text or whatever) or the >> Firefox editor for textboxes (which is way too simple). I don't know, but I thought that Thunderbird allowed you to use an external editor :??? I used Vim when I used Mutt and when I used Claws-mail (which BTW, is the best MUA I've ever used). >> But, whenever I edit email with Vim (this one, for example), my >> signature appears in a different color because the syntax >> highlighting, and some MUAs (mutt, Claws if I recall correctly, maybe >> others) color signatures differently if they detect the magic "-- " >> at the start of a line. > > That's what prompted me to investigate: I couldn't remember having set > any highlighting for signatures, doubled checked and still I don't see > anything. And the highlighting of signatures and other things is built-in in many MUAs out there. For Vim, it is automagic ;) once you set syntax=on. I didn't need to do anything more to have syntax highlighting when replying email, which is fantastic because it makes threading lots easier to follow when replying. > So what if I found your signature more interesting than your post and > wanted to comment on it..?? ;-) Don't worry, my signature is not very interesting XDDD -- Raúl "DervishD" Núñez de Arenas Coronado Linux Registered User 88736 | http://www.dervishd.net It's my PC and I'll cry if I want to...
