Thank you, Benjamin.

1/ You are severe with cmd.exe.
For somebody used to cmd.exe syntax and wanting to stay in Windows
world while profiting of the power of Windows console Vim, cmd console
is not so terrible:
- quick copy/paste with Quick Edit mode enabled.
- I like cmd console Vim colors (except the blue which is unreadable)
- automatic switch of the cursor shape between normal and insert mode
is precious.

Again the only problem is the loss of mouse control with Quick Edit
mode. Hope Bram is tuned !

2/ I did not try Console2. I will.

3/ Some remarks concerning the Cygwin consoles (which use the Cygwin
version of Vim):

- Cygwin is heavy (5 Gbytes)
- You loose the cmd.exe commands when you launch a shell
- with rxvt-native, same problem as with Quick Edit mode cmd console:
no possible cursor control in Vim
- with rxvt-x (which requires the launch of the X11 server in addition
to the shell), same problem again.
- with rxvt-unicode-xS (also needing X11), no problem: mouse control
active.
- the best solution is probably Mintty, which does not require X11 and
has mouse control active.

Note however that cmd console remains the default Cygwin console (when
launching Cygwin.bat). With cmd console, man pages are great.
Note that:
set ttymouse=xterm2
must be added in .vimrc in order to have mouse control with Cygwin Vim
running in the cmd console.
Here again, mouse control is lost when Quick Edit is activated.
