These connectors and hoods were NOT available when Apple commissioned the DB-19 from AMP Inc in 1984 ... fully twenty-five years ago! In fact, in 1984, only two connectors were made: right-angle PCB mount, female, with inserted pins and straight cable mount, male, without pins (the hood, usually called a shell by AMP Inc, was molded). The most significant factors with the DB-19 were: 1) it would fit on the board, which was already too full and 2) it utilized the existing AMP Inc manufacturing and assembly tooling. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Vintage Macs group.
