Well, if he's willing to part it out then I'm sure some of us are ready to buy.
As for the $50 Lisa, yeah, I know they go for hundreds or even beyond $1k. Some dude in VA wants $2800 or something for his... But that's what's cool about some of the people on THIS list, some of us are in it for sentimental value, not to make a dollar. My wife would kill me if I bought a $1k computer like that since I don't intend on reselling it. I have a long history with my previous Mac XL computers, but didn't know back then that they would be so hard to come by or that I would even feel like I do now about having one again. Maybe someday someone will get past the need to make huge bucks off their lisa and help me out (like in the low hundreds range) or maybe I'll become hugely rich and then I'll be able to buy one of a 'collector' looking to make a buck. Until then I keep searching! -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of leaknoil Sent: Thursday, August 06, 2009 3:29 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Lot of vintage apple/mac items in Palo Alto I've talked with the owner a little. He wants to sell it as a lot and would like to get an offer around $10,000 for it. I wouldn't say its not worth that other then the economy at the moment is really dropping the prices on vintage gear. Two years ago I am sure it would be. By just what things have sold on eBay over the last six months. It would probably cost you close to that to piece that collection together off eBay and half the stuff wouldn't work or get damaged in shipping. It sounds like a really amazing collection and he tells me everything is in perfect shape and running. Seems like a nice guy too. He did seem open to the possibility of parting it out if he doesn't find a lot buyer. He is pretty aware of what is going for currently so, I wouldn't expect to pick up a Lisa for $50. > > Vintage Apple computer collection for sale. > > 2 Apple II's, 4 Apple II+'s, 1 Apple Bell & Howell, 3 Apple III's, 3 > Apple III+'s, 2 Apple IIe's, > 3 Apple IIe's Enhanced, 2 Apple IIe's Platinum, 2 Apple IIc's, 1 Apple > IIc+, Very rare Apple IIc LCD monitor for the IIc, 1 Apple II gs > installed in IIe case (an apple upgrade of the time) also very rare, I > Apple IIgs, 1 Apple IIgs WOZ edition.
