It was discovered a while back on this list that it's possible to enable a sort
of SCSI disk mode for the Mac II and some other desktops.
The internal hard drive cannot use a SCSI ID that's in use on the host Mac for
this trick.
To do this, change the setting of the ROM disable jumper on the motherboard. If
it's off, put a jumper cap on it. If it has a jumper on, remove it.
IIRC the jumper is labled W1. What this is for is to disable soldered ROM chips
so a ROM SIMM can be used.
So yes, you can convert a Mac II into the world's largest and least efficient
external hard drive. ;)
P.S. Another trick you should not do. Dueling trackballs by connecting the ADB
ports on a pair of old Powerbook 145B's.
