I am new to this, and just got a MAC SE/30 running OS 6.0.5 with a 40M hard
disk. I need some help to transfer executables that I downloaded on my PC in
.sea.bin, .sit, .hqx format to the SE/30. I have a 1.44M floppy on both
machines and stuffit on the PC, but not the SE/30. I can format 1.44M disks on
the SE/30 and write .img files on it using GEMXPLOR.EXE. The SE/30 has
Filexchange running. I am looking to transfer the ROM image to run vMac on the
CP and transfer several downloaded programs from the PC to the SE/30.

Netpresenz, from Stairways Software that now offers Interarchy allows as SE/30
to become an ftp server. I use it that way for Linux and Mac OS 10.4 and above.

I would also recommend OS 7.5 for your SE/30 with the Mode 32 startup patch
installed. Apple's Open Transport makes life easier for talking IP over
ethernet which peecees do pretty well. Ethernet cards for the SE/30's processor
direct slot can be had but they might cost a couple of bucks. eBay . . .

You should find at least Stuffit Expander for the SE/30 and do the expanding
there. Lost resource forks and incorrect TYPE and CREATOR codes will forever be
problems if you expand on a peecee or Linux box.
