Are you sure it won't boot? Once you get the RAM amounts into the higher 
realms, the startup RAM check takes *forever*. I actually dropped my 
Quadra 840 AV down from the max because it took a good minute or two to 
even get the gray screen. You might try starting it up and letting it 
sit for a bit.
