Discs burned with OS X 10.3 or later are a HFS Extended (aka HFS+) 
and ISO-9660 hybrid format.  The ISO side is Joliet with Rock Ridge.

Snow Leopard, btw, cannot write HFS volumes - that support has been 
removed.  All HFS is treated as read-only.
