Recap:
I recently got a Macintosh Classic, and the only problem with it is the sound;
you can BARELY hear it from the speaker, or external speakers when the system
volume is up all the way. (The chime is also VERY faint, that's why I'm pretty
sure it's hardware and not software.)
Well, for those of you following this discussion, I looked VERY closely at the
capacitors, and they all look like they're in pristine condition... No leaks,
bulging, white crud; no fluids eeking out of them anywhere... Can they look
this good and still be bad? The speaker connector is buried really far back on
the analog board, and I really don't think that's the problem, since I plugged
in external speakers and it was still very faint. What could be some other
causes for this problem? The computer works fine in all other regards.
Thanks
P.S. I still can't get the ImageWriter to perform the self test...
