Do you have *any* memory installed in the SIMM sockets?   The IIfx has
no motherboard RAM, so without memory in the SIMM sockets, it will not
boot.    However, IIRC, you will get a good POST chime without RAM in
the sockets because of the 32K of cache memory, which is apparently
enough to complete the POST.

How is the expansion RAM dodgy (as mentioned in your earlier posting)?
