I am wondering if this computer indeed has had its drive replaced with an 800k. I looked inside of the drive of my FDHD Macintosh and the drive of my 800K macintosh, and they both looked quite similar inside. Looking inside the drive, I see one little switch plunger with a green mark on the left, and one with a blue mark on the right. The confirmed 800k drive in my older SE has the same thing. But to be sure, does anybody have any reference photos of what a 1.4MB drive is supposed to look like?
Now, if this turns out to be an 800K drive, I'm wondering where I'll find a 1.44MB drive. I've got a friend with a lot of early PowerPC Macintosh computers, but no 68K's. Did the old PowerPC's use the same or compatible SCSI floppy drives? -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
