May I suggest the dishwasher approach to fixing the Classic (there are nay 
sayers in the group that will advise against but it worked for me and my 
Classic II). Here are some links describing and showing what you can do for

As for the stuck floppy, it can be removed with the old straightened 
paperclip trick. There should be a little hole just to the right of the 
floppy drive opening. Straighten a paperclip and then insert. Push firmly. 
You may have to try a few times to hit the "eject button" on the inside, 
but it should pop out with the right pressure and patience.
