It has certainly been a few years, but if memory serves, the 6100 PDS card WILL
work in a Quadra '040 PDS slot. While this may seem nonsensical at first
understand that the DOS card requires a specific riser in order for it to be
installed in the 6100. This riser gives the 6100 (in essence) a full '040 PDS
slot which is electrically identical to the '040 slot found in some of the
Quadras. The important thing to note is that the DOS card must be installed in
a proper Quadra '040 PDS slot. A Quadra 605 or 630 (for example) has a "PDS"
slot but it is more akin to the PDS slot found in the LC series of computers
(the Quadra 605 & 630 do not have a true PDS slot, but emulate the 32 bit PDS
slot found in the LC-III).

I believe the following Quadras have a proper '040 PDS slot:
610 - Probable '040 PDS slot, Requires a PDS-PDS riser
650 - Definite '040 PDS slot
660AV - Probable '040 PDS slot, Requires a PDS-PDS riser
700 - Definits '040 PDS slot, However given the case dimensions the card may
not physically fit with the cover in place
800 - Definite '040 PDS slot
900 - Definite '040 PDS slot
950 - Definite '040 PDS slot

Sadly, there were very, very, very few '040 PDS cards ever developed. Had
there been more aggressive development by Apple, the value of this rarely used
slot would have really made the Quadra shine!
