Incidentally, the Classic came with System 6.0.3 in ROM.  You should be able to 
boot into it by holding Cmd-Opt-X-O at the chime.  From there, you can use the 
serial ports and a SCSI HDD, in case you can't find a floppy drive for some 
reason.
