I wanted to install an IBM labeled, SCSI 1-gig SCSI
drive into my IIci. Of course, I had the exact same
formatting problem that you did.  So, I then went to
the Hard Drive section in the FAQ. Always check out
the FAQ first because that's where you find the best
information.  I found a link to the LIDO 7 formatting
software and now my 1-gigger runs like a champ.
